What is the purpose of the band "Tool"?

maynard is an amazing songwriter he is also in a band called"a perfect circle" i personally do not believe them to be satanic at all. all of his songs have different types of meanins to them ( look up what people think about their lyrics songmeanings.org) but maynard is very anti-celebrity and when tool performs at concert the stage is normally dark or has types of art displayed on the big screen. imo they challenge society and peoples norlmal beliefs about different topic ( religion, government, fame, drugs, etc) check out the song Aenima, and also watch the documentary called" blood into wine" he is a very intellegant person
