Will a spine tattoo be ruined if you lose weight?

I've been anxious to get a tattoo, and I finally figured out I wanted one of my tattoos to go down my spine. To all those who know of Maynard James Keenan, and his spinal tattoo, I kind of want something like that but not exactly the same. I'm a little over weight and in the process of losing it. My patience is getting slim, but I want to make sure it's not going to be ruined if I decide to do it any time soon. If so, I'll just wait. So, yeah.. just let me know about the basic question you see. Will a spine tattoo be ruined if you lose weight? thanks! :)
